Job Description:
Examples of Work:
- Provide training for new vendor managers throughout the state for local agencies
- Complete federal, state, and local reports as required
- Draft and implement policies and procedures as required by state and federal agencies
- Collaborate with other states on Emergency Preparedness
- Minimum travel for educational and routine monitoring visits across the state
- Attended national WIC association vendor and policy conferences
- Collaborate with Coordinators across a range of projects
- Co-lead, plan, and execute the Annual State WIC Conference
- Complete authorization and reauthorizations of all WIC-eligible stores across the state
- Utilize data direct and MIS WIC system to track redemptions and interpret trends of participants/stores
- Complete compliance investigations at new and authorized stores
- Travel (less than 10 days/year) to regional or national program-related conferences or events.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community-based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least 4 years of experience with the above requirements as well as:
- Experience in, or knowledge of, the WIC Program
- Management or supervision experience in the grocery or pharmacy industries
- Experience with federal programs, rules, and regulations.
- Intermediate or expert-level skills in organizing across tasks, timelines, and/or projects
- High-level project coordination experience.
- Adult education creation and delivery experience.
Other: Valid Driver's License and travel required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn/apply, Federal rules, regulations, and policies
- Ability to apply, create, review, and edit program policies and procedures based on federal or state statures, rules, and/or regulations
- Ability to create and deliver training as a subject matter expert
- Experience working with grocery or pharmacy vendors
- Working to create, enforce, and monitor contracts
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to program contractors, vendors, participants, and sub awardees
- Contract or technical writing skills
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, PPT, and Excel - must be proficient
- Ability to manage and accurately input complex data into state and federal reporting systems
- Working effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders to include planning, scheduling, and facilitating meetings and events.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative and ownership of tasks
