Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Positions perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, and wildlife ecology. Conduct waterfowl trapping and banding, Collect and report demographic data on trapped waterfowl, enter banding data into organized banding tables, Write annual banding summary report, Biological sample collection related to wildlife disease, Conduct waterfowl disease surveillance, Maintenance and care of assigned vehicle, optics, GPS, tools. 3-month seasonal status position. The Game Division has a seasonal opening in Fallon. This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. To Qualify
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
