The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse 1 underfilling Licensed Practical Nurse 3 to be located in Sparks. This position actively participates on a multidisciplinary team providing nursing care and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24 hour/7 day a week residential treatment setting. Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) North serve children between 6-17 years of age. The program uses nationally recognized models of care, including a Psychoeducational model, the Trauma Informed Care Model and Recovery Model. PRTF North also incorporates Aggression Replacement Training into its philosophy of care. Work responsibilities include providing nursing care to adolescents, medication management and administering medications as prescribed by the agency psychiatrist and monitoring for side effects, maintaining client safety, coordinating admissions to acute care facilities if youth safety is compromised, coordinating youth admission and discharges, completing referrals, participating in on going professional development trainings, providing quality assurance, and working in the milieu monitoring daily activities while providing psycho-social rehabilitative services. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nevada and one year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Special Requirements Phlebotomy certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Intravenous (IV) certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
