The Position
Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-007, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL JUNE 30TH, 2025. Please refer to the link for more information: https://gov.nv.gov/Newsroom/ExecOrders/Executive-Orders/ Under general supervision, incumbents perform the full range of duties described in the series concept, and in addition, function as a leadworker to a regularly assigned crew. Leadwork responsibilities include providing training and technical assistance, work assignment and work review, and providing input to performance evaluations. In a correctional setting, incumbents function as a leadworker for an inmate crew on a regular basis and document inmate performance through completion of periodic performance reports. Incumbents are also responsible for implementing security procedures which include securing the work area from unauthorized inmates and accountability for assigned inmates, staff, tools, and equipment.
The Maintenance Repair Worker 4 at the Office of the Military is responsible for performing semi-skilled and skilled tasks in various building and mechanical trades, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, mechanical repairs, and welding. This position operates under general supervision and includes lead worker duties, such as training and overseeing maintenance staff. Responsibilities include implementing maintenance schedules and documenting tasks. Conducting facility inspections to identify maintenance needs. Performing plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, mechanical, and welding tasks. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Three years of experience performing semi-skilled work in the relevant building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Some positions require a valid Class A, B, or C driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions are subject to call-back after work hours and call-out on weekends and holidays. These positions will be identified at the time of recruitment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
