The Nevada Secretary of State's office is seeking applicants for a Master Information Technology Professional II to be located either in Las Vegas or Carson City. This position will be located where the most qualified candidate is selected. The Master IT Professional II is a key resource for this agency and provides the highest level of professional IT expertise. Job duties include production support, system analysis, software development, unit testing, code reviews, and mentoring of development staff. Existing agency software applications are written in Microsoft .Net Framework Visual Basic and are transitioning to .Net 8 using C#. Knowledge of .Net Core and Azure DevOps would be beneficial. To Qualify
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and six years of progressively responsible professional IT experience, three years of which were at the advanced journey level in a pertinent specialty area such as information systems project management, quality assurance, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, or information security; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements This position is subject to call-out or call-back. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Professional certification from a nationally recognized/accredited organization, to be identified at the time of recruitment, is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
