Social Worker IIIs perform advanced journey level case management services in child protective services, foster care, adoptions, adult protective services, and/or guardianships.
DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Social Worker 3 in Fernley. Incumbents are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: Conduct thorough assessments of families at SAFE Model specific times throughout the life of the case. Assess/manage for on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; deliver strength-based family-centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met. Ensure Case Plans are developed and reviewed in accordance with policy and practice guidelines; documentation of assessments, CFTs, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, TPR packets and other pertinent paperwork. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Qualifications
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in child protective services, foster care services, adoption services, adult protective services, and/or guardianships in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as a Social Worker I in Nevada State service. Special Requirements A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
