The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. The Biodiversity Division has a single seasonal opening based in the Headquarters Office located in Reno, NV. This position is a 6-month duration over the late spring-summer and potentially early fall months, working up to 1035 hours. The position will perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation, and wildlife ecology, however, it will primarily focus on wildlife data management, manipulation, and analyses. This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Applicant is responsible for securing housing. Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions and camping in remote, primitive locations.
