- Summary :
- To independently perform lottery ticket sales in the sales office and coordinate training and staff coverage as needed to ensure a quality customer experience. To provide support to the Lottery sales team for sales tracking, second chance drawings and special projects.YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS : Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and / or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Education : Completion of high school or high school equivalency. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.Experience : Three years of experience in handling and accounting for large sums of money with work experience involving public contact and sales, marketing or communications.License and Certification : None required.Preferred Qualifications : Experience as a work-unit team leader or staffing coordinator is desirable.Special Requirements : Must be able to stand for long periods of time in order to retrieve, stock, display and sell lottery products and promotional material while serving our customers.Responsibilities : Works with the public in a retail sales environment selling all Lottery products using a specialized Microlot lottery terminal. Answers general Lottery questions including assisting players with information on game types, rules, and availability; with a strong emphasis on customer service skills.Operates Lottery terminals for sales and financial reporting.Validates player identification and offers alternative solutions if primary forms of identification are not presented. Pays lower tier prizes directly or guides customers through the prize claim process for higher tier prizes.Maintains and reconciles a cash drawer and daily petty cash. Accounts for and reconciles active instant ticket sales and inventory, online game sales, and subscription sales to the daily sales summary report. Prepares cash transfer to accounting at the close of each day.Assists the sales support team with tracking and reporting for customer activity, ticket sales and sales promotions directly related to retail sales office operations. Conducts periodic sales promotions to increase sales activity and promote customer good will.Maintains a secure work area ensuring all cash, ticket inventory and supplies are properly stored and monitored.Cross trains with other Lottery Sales Assistant II positions to fully support sales team functions : including assisting with special projects, daily tracking and management of second chance drawings, external events and promotions, updating information in the back office system, providing reports to LSRs and management.Serves as first point of contact for all visitors, clients and business partners for the NH Lottery Commission.
