As a valued new employee to the NMED, you will receive five (5) full days of leave in your leave balances right from your start date.
Why does the job exist?
This position will work directly with the loan manager, manage billing information, assist with two revolving loan programs and one federal grant program, and will perform all tasks related to billing borrowers and depositing loan repayments.
How does it get done?
- Assist with processing disbursement requests and loan / grant documents
- Process deposits that are made through ACH transfers, the E-Bill Express portal, and any mailed in using Wells Fargo Desktop deposit
- Prepare deposits that will impact multiple accounts and will submit to the Financial Services Bureau
- Make deposits within the 24-hour state mandate
- Enter deposits into proprietary software to be tracked and reconciled on a project basis
- Pull billing information from the proprietary software and send to borrowers electronically
- Process disbursements both in the proprietary software and in the Statewide Human Resources Accounting (SHARE) system
- Generate loan and grant documents from templates and customize for each borrower
Who are the customers?
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following :
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and / or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course certificate as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
