Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $46.04 per hour.
Why does the job exist?
This position is responsible for the overall operations and safety/security of a prison unit within an adult correctional facility. Position will also conduct after hour duty officer rounds to each unit and support service area on weekends and holidays.
How does it get done?
Overseeing the daily operations, programs and management of a prison facility.
Who are the customers?
Nine (9) years of experience in corrections; three (3) years of which must have been supervisory or management. Experience in the areas of social work, guidance, and counseling and/or law enforcement may substitute for up to four (4) years of required experience in corrections. A degree in any field from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's license. Pre-employment background check is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with and supervision of inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
