    The General Manager II / Deputy Chief Medical Officer will :

  • Support the Chief Medical Officer (CFO) by overseeing the programmatic and clinical components of the Medicaid program in the state of New Mexico.
  • How does it get done?

    The General Manager II / Deputy Chief Medical Officer is responsible for :

  • Overseeing Bureaus that have a strong clinical and programmatic component such as Benefits, Reimbursement and Pharmacy;
  • The quality oversight of the managed care organization (MCO) and the fee-for-service population;
  • Managing provider relations and communication;
  • Managing the strategic initiatives for the department;
  • Communicating with legislators and advocates about the Medicaid program.
  • Who are the customers?

  • Medicaid members in the state of New Mexico and for the staff that supports those Medicaid members.
  • Ideal Candidate

    The Ideal Candidate has :

  • A clinical background;
  • Good communication skills;
  • The ability to work and solve problems independently;
  • The ability to self-direct;
  • Experience with operational and strategic work;
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Minimum Qualification

    A Master's degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of executive level experience with a heavy strategic / functional strategy impact directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling sixteen (16) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include executive management and / or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.

  • Employment Requirements

    Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
