Why does the job exist?
We are searching for a methodical and strategic Grants Manager to work with our Juvenile Justice Services team, CYFD Administrative Services and local jurisdictions, their governing boards and program providers who receive funding from the Children, Youth, and Families Department. This includes funding sustainable, effective and evidence-based grant program models, and aid in identifying new sources of funding.
How does it get done?
- Distribute and monitor expenditure of state and federal grant funds, with CYFD Administrative Services Division;
- Direct and coordinate all planning, programmatic, and oversight activities associated with these programs including budgetary, procurement, contracting, auditing and reporting requirements of the grants;
- Serve as liaison to state fiscal agents, continuum coordinators, providers and local continuum boards;
- Research other grant funding opportunities to support NM CYFD JJS youth development and community based alternatives efforts;
- Provide support for the federally-required, governor-appointed Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee. This involves interpreting and maintaining compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes and regulations;
- Provide technical assistance and site visits to continuum's and providers;
- Process and document payments, track expenditures, prepare progress reports, ensure grantor's are in compliance with financial, programmatic and contractual requirements of the grants;
- Review grant proposals and aid in the award process;
- Manage and provide technical assistance on grant databases.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education,
Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology, and / or Family Studies / Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work / case management experience, behavioral health, and / or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related
field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess a current and valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting : late hours and weekends work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation. Incumbent may be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments.
