The Bureau of Health Emergency Management will ensure, through coordination with hospital, County and Local Stakeholders that the State is prepared to respond to, and recover from, all natural and man-made emergencies. This bureau will provide the leadership and support to reduce the loss of life and property through an all-hazards emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery throughout the state of New Mexico.

This position maintains and administers the Bureau of Health Emergency Management's Health Alert Network (HAN) and information sharing and communications platform which is utilized to collect critical healthcare data and disseminate critical healthcare alerts and information to a broad audience of healthcare professionals, local governments, first responders and other stakeholders throughout the State of New Mexico. This position works closely with local hospitals, federal healthcare officials, and other stakeholders to ensure collection of required data is maintained and provided to collection points designated by Senior Leadership and Centers for Disease Control leadership. This position works closely with software representatives to build out the Bureau's data collection and command and control platforms which are utilized doing normal daily and emergency operations. The position collaborates with Federal partners on healthcare data collection and works to enhance the information sharing operations of the Bureau. This position also provides training to platform end users both internal and external partners.
How does it get done?
The position deploys critical health messages to a broad audience of healthcare professionals and facilities within the state of New Mexico utilizing the New Mexico Health Alert Network. The position maintains and updates the extensive contact roster utilized to broadcast health alerts to selected audiences. The position maintains and expands the bureau's command and control platform to support numerous bureau activities, support of healthcare coalition activities, and internal and external stakeholder to ensure operational readiness. The position works closely with bureau leadership, as well as with representatives of U.S.Health andHuman Services /Centers for Disease Control with ongoing data collection processes and projects. The incumbent will also seek continuing education through conferences and vendor trainings to ensure operational readiness in the bureau's electronic platforms.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Works is performed primarily with software platforms which handle electronic reporting and mass notification messaging with extensive personal computer and telephone/online meeting usage and extended periods of sitting. Some occasional travel to healthcare facilities may be required to provide training to healthcare personnel on reporting procedures, and to special events sponsored by the bureau. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Please Note that Remote, Telework, or work from Home options are not offered for this position. This position also may require periodic after-hours work, statewide and out of state travel, staffing the Department Operations Center during emergencies with long hours, exercises and possible emergency deployment.
