    Healthcare Surveyor II / IMB Investigator will :

  • Conduct investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect or exploitation involving adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, who are served by Home and Community-Based providers under the Medicaid Developmental Disabilities Waiver, the Mi-Via (self-directed) Waiver and the Medically Fragile Waiver.
  • How does it get done?

    Healthcare Surveyor II / IMB Investigator is responsible for :

  • Conducting interviews of victims, witnesses, Interdisciplinary Team members, guardians, Case Managers, Consultants, therapist, and any other persons who may have information or knowledge of the alleged incident.
  • Ensuring the health and safety of the alleged victim before and during the investigation, review documentation, obtain professional consultations and write detailed investigative reports.
  • Who are the customers?

  • Consumers include the individual with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, agencies that provide services to the individual, direct care staff, Guardians, Case Managers, Consultants, Community Supports Consultant, and the Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD).
  • Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate has :

  • Ability to think critically;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Prior work history of healthcare investigative experience;
  • Experience working as a team player;
  • Experience working in the Developmental Disabilities work force.
  • Minimum Qualification

    Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Architecture, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Rehabilitation, and / or Criminal Justice and two (2) years directly related experience in community based healthcare services and case management. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

  • Education and years of experience must be related to the purpose of the position.
  • If Minimum Qualification requires a specific number of "semester hours" in a field (e.g. 6 semester hours in Accounting), applicants MUST have those semester hours in order to meet the minimum qualifications. No substitutions apply for semester hours.
  • Employment Requirements

    Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

    Working Conditions

    This position is located in an office setting with field work as needed. Preferred candidate will work on-call as required. The candidate must have a working knowledge of computers, cellular phones, various different software and data base applications. Office setting, attending meetings, visiting provider agencies, extensive computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

    Bargaining Unit Position

    This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms / conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
