The General Services Department (GSD) supports the operations of state government by providing essential services, including procurement, risk management, facilities management, transportation services, and printing services. The Facilities Management Division (FMD) is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and renovation of state-owned buildings and facilities. FMD ensures that state workplaces are safe, functional, and sustainable, supporting the daily operations of government agencies across New Mexico.

Why does the job exist?
The FMD Projects Administrator performs complex administrative functions related to supporting the Construction Project Manager. This position provides administrative support to the project management team by assisting with the following: processing procurement, pay applications, and assisting with project close-out procedures. This position will also conduct extensive management analysis on contract documents to ensure performance measures contained within the contract/construction documents are being met by architectural, engineering, and construction contractors.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a current valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Fast paced office setting with strict deadlines dealing with officials from all state agencies, private landlords and building professionals. Exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer, telephone usage and periods of sitting.

- Provide oversight of schedules, deliverables, maintaining project budget, pay applications, tracking project management change orders and amendments, request for information (RFI's), and project close-out procedures
- Maintain and routinely provide reporting metrics to FMD Capital Project Managers on performance measures related to the technical and professional services contained within the contract/construction documents.
- Consult with state agencies on a routine basis during the life of an agency's approved capital project(s) in order to provide construction management administrative support and analysis to all agencies served by FMD.
- Develop and generate construction progress reports, construction administration reports, project schedules and time lines and project analysis.
