Why does the job exist?
The position exists to design and implement programs and trainings aimed at reducing workplace conflict. Using methods such as mediation, restorative justice, and preventative trainings, the role equips employees with tools and resources to manage and diffuse conflict, promoting healthier work environments. Additionally, the position will oversee and coordinate these initiatives for either the northeast and northwest, or southeast and southwest regions of the state.
How does it get done?
Key responsibilities include program development, implementation, data tracking, and delivering training and outreach initiatives. The role ensures the effective application of conflict resolution strategies, tracks program impact, and fosters awareness through targeted training sessions.
Who are the customers?
Risk Management Division customers include state agencies and employees, board and commissions, schools and universities, and participating schools and local public bodies.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience developing large scale programs and / or projects with measurable results.
- Experience with oversight of programs that impact multiple entities.
- Experience serving a diverse range of customers with differing needs.
- Experience in the field of Risk Management practices designed to reduce the possibility of loss.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in program administration or project management in areas related to the purpose of the position. Any combination of education in a related field and / or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual / Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage. Sitting, standing, bending, lifting and reaching overhead may be required. Some travel is required, must have State Defensive Driving Certificate. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Field Work (Quarterly Travel).
