Why does the job exist?
Incumbent will have an obligation to manage its situations in such a way that it minimizes any possibilities of injury to clients, staff and other persons visiting the premises as well as provide security, loss control, and protection to the Sequoyah Adolescent Treatment Center (SATC) in Albuquerque, NM.
How does it get done?
Incumbent will conduct searches of new admissions, clients and visitors to prevent contraband from entering SATC. Check all buildings and ensure they are properly secured (all windows closed, doors locked, and lights off during non-working hours) for SATC. Enforce SATC policies and procedures. Provide assistance with maintaining resident to staff ratios. To assist staff members with combative residents using CPI techniques. Follow walk away policies and procedures and coordinate searches with staff and law enforcement agencies. Conduct room searches per schedule and upon request. Monitor traffic flow, parking and follow traffic control policy. Check all fire extinguishers monthly and report all deficiencies to their immediate supervisor and log on to the Fire Extinguisher Check List in the absence of the Safety Officer. Respond to all fire alarms activated and report any deficiencies. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. Maintain work schedules and approve leave as needed. Recommends and/or initiates personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, terminations, hires, and disciplinary measures. Performs other supervisory duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work during inclement weather and perform assigned duties for snow removal. Requires overtime for special events and other activities within the Museum. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Requires long periods of walking and or standing.
