Why does the job exist?
The SNAP Research Coordinator will:
Work with the Policy Program and Development Department to supplement eligible households with food support through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP);
Assist with research on available waivers, the impact to the communities of the state and work to communicate this information to the SNAP team;
Support the SNAP team by completing reports, analyzing data and managing the tracking of assigned tasks;
Coordinate and attend meetings related to these waivers to ensure all stakeholders remain involved and informed of the project;
Assist with legislation by providing research, reviewing state/federal data and working with the public to ensure that feedback is received in regards to potential state rule changes.
How does it get done?
The SNAP Research Coordinator is responsible for:
Assisting with research and analysis of legislative bills for impact to the programs the Health Care Authority (HCA) administers;
Assisting with drafting and submitting various federal data and outcome reports;
Assisting with tracking and ensuring timelines are met for projects;
Participating and scheduling program meetings and conferences, including webinars.

The Health Care Authority (HCA) Income Support Division (ISD) Staff;
Federal Agencies;
ISD Field Staff.

ISD Field Staff.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance, and Counseling, Education,
Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and two (2) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social
service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related
field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office setting with extensive use of personal computer, telephone, fax, copier and other related office equipment that involves sitting, standing, bending, reaching, etc. to include lifting up to 30 pounds.
