Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.As an LMSW on HPC's Crisis Respite Team, you will work with adolescents and youth to provide short-term intervention services in an outpatient residence. The Crisis Respite House is a 6-bed unit that serves youth, ages 10 - 17, who currently receive mental health services or are at risk of or are currently experiencing an emotional / behavioral crisis due to events in their environment. You will be part of a team that provides culturally competent and evidence-based treatment in a trauma-sensitive, safe, and therapeutic environment including :
• Providing crisis intervention services for youth struggling in their current environment.
• Facilitating group therapy sessions focused on coping and social skills.
• Collaborating with community service providers to connect youth with relevant programs.
• Providing family and peer support.Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).ORCandidates within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b / 55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Additional Comments If you would like to join HPC and contribute to a workforce dedicated to public service, we offer :
