Or in title or eligible for transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law or reachable for appointment from appropriate Civil Service List.The preferred candidate will also have long term care experience.Duties Description As a Licensed Practical Nurse under the supervision of an RN, you would be involved in the treatment of residents. You would administer certain medications; observe residents and report changes in their condition; take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure; and obtain specimens for analysis. You would prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed residents; and care for residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting, and moving residents and caring for their personal effects.Additional Comments This position is at the NYS Veterans' Home in Oxford, NY. We are a 242 bed, state of the art, skilled nursing facility for Veterans and their dependents.Shift Differential and inconvenience pay is additional for evening & night shift schedules. $4,000 annual geographic pay in addition to salary.Generous benefit package includes :
