RN PACU

Job Opportunity: RN - PACU (Ithaca, NY)

Position: Immediately need an experienced RN PACU for the 3 months of the contract in New York.

Title: RN - PACU

Location: Ithaca

Duration: 13 weeks (Extending)

Shift: Day shift. 10 hours a day. 40 hours a week.

Pay rate: Lucrative pay Benefits Bonus.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience.
• Active license in NY state.
• COVID Vaccinated.
• BLS / CPR Preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) lines as per established protocols.
• Perform airway management as necessary to ensure patient safety.
• Conduct gastric lavage when indicated, following appropriate standards.
• Develop and implement discharge planning tailored to each patient's needs.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to provide comprehensive care during the recovery process.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate patient records, including ICD-9 coding for documentation purposes.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the PACU.

Experience:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with a valid state board certification.
• Previous experience in urgent care or a similar clinical setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to post-anesthesia care.
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring standards and protocols.
• Experience in travel nursing is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
