Murdoch is currently recruiting a Nurse Supervisor I in Summerset Cottage. Summerset’s program consists of one statewide program, Partners in Autism Treatment and Habilitation (PATH) program, and an internal program, MATCH (Murdoch ASD Treatment and Clinical Habilitation). The PATH program consists of approximately 10 children who live at Summerset Cottage and 2 co-ed community group homes, each serving 4 children. The PATH group home is located in Oxford. The Wright group home is located in Franklinton. The MATCH program serves approximately 12 adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. All services are designed both to reduce behavioral excesses as well as to accelerate positive social skills. Treatment includes person-centered teaching in the areas of self-help, education, communication, and recreation as deemed necessary by the interdisciplinary treatment team.
The STARS program is a service provided by the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services at Murdoch Developmental Center. The STARS program (Specialized Treatment for
Adolescents in a Residential Setting) serves adolescents, ages 13 through 17 from across the state who have a dual diagnosis (developmental disability and mental illness) and demonstrate extreme and dangerous forms of aberrant behavior. The STARS program is specifically designed for people with IDD who have been unsuccessful in developing and maintaining an effective, pro-social behavioral repertoire in other treatment settings.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision of nursing services in Summerset Cottage. This Nurse Supervisor supervises 4 full time licensed
IDD who have been unsuccessful in developing and maintaining an effective, pro-social behavioral repertoire in other treatment settings.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clinical supervision of nursing services in Summerset Cottage. This Nurse Supervisor supervises 4 full time licensed nurses and occasionally temporary, part time licensed nurses who are required for nursing coverage (6:30 am – 8:00 pm) of direct medical/nursing services, provides professional guidance related to health care services provided by HCTs and support personnel, is accountable for assessing nursing needs, developing long and short term goals, setting standards, monitoring the coordination and provision of health care, monitoring for quality assurance, planning for utilization of resources, and ensuring training, provides staff management functions including all aspects of personnel management, oversees the collaboration of health services including licensed nurses, families, members of the interdisciplinary team and members of division management team, provides building supervision as scheduled/requested.
Scheduled work hours/shift: 8am-5pm 5 days/week with flexibility to work 6:30 am-3:00 pm; and occasional rotating 12-hour shift weekends 6:30a-7p; schedule adjustments as needed/required.
This is a full time position and eligible for the full state benefits package including Health Insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays,retorement, etc.

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of nursing experience.

**Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus**
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or theUniversityof North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months fromtheseparation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
