Department Mission:
Under the Department of Commerce, the mission of the Division of Employment Security is to administer the unemployment insurance system for the state of North Carolina by delivering efficient, effective and quality service.
Description of Work:
The function of the Benefit Charges Determination Unit is: to receive, examine, and process employers’ noncharging requests; to make Administrative Determinations which either allow or disallow those requests; to maintain computer records on employer noncharging records; and to respond to any questions, written or oral, which employers, employer representatives, or other individuals may have concerning a specific noncharging request or the noncharging provisions of the Division Employment Security (DES) Law, and other duties as assigned by management.
Duties:
To make administrative determinations and decisions concerning noncharging, respond to letters of inquiries regarding benefit charges. Public contact with employers, claimants, and other units within the Division
