This position provides administrative/clerical support to a number of professional and specialty staff.  

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data input/retrieval.
  • Creating authorizations.
  • Processing claims; ordering aids, appliances, AT, and other equipment.
  • Setting up case files.
  • Corresponding with consumers, vendors, visitors, and other DSB staff (written and verbal).
  • Making copies; filing; and others as assigned. 
  • General office support such as: answering phones; mail retrieval distribution; greeting visitors; checking in equipment; sending faxes; and provides basic technical support for computers, software programs, and other office equipment.

Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Demonstrated experience working with general office equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience having proficient computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service.

Management Preferences:
  • At least 1 year of administrative work experience.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires: fingering; lifting to 30 pounds (occasionally); reaching, stooping, talking, and hearing.

Salary determination is based on equity, education, and experience.

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;

  • Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS) if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.  If a former member of the NC National Guard, who served for at least 6 years and was discharged under honorable conditions, they must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
  • If applicants earned college credit hours but did not complete a degree program, they must attach an unofficial transcript to each application to receive credit for this education.
  • Applicants may be subject to a criminal background check. All candidates selected for positions considered "Positions of Trust" will be subject to a criminal background check.
