Description of Work

The Primary Purpose of the Support Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) is to provide quality oversight as it relates to resident rights and implementation of quality initiatives within all components of the assigned area's program related to residential and habilitative services. This position will investigate with advocacy any alleged rights infringements as defined by policy. Resident related safety concerns without an allegation or suspicion of a rights infringement will also be investigated by the position.

The Support QIDP provides oversight of corrective plans from management investigations and safety events. The main method to ensure that plans are being implemented is through direct observation. This includes using formal monitoring tools such as mealtime, basic care, and environmental.

Lastly, the Support QIDP provides oversight in the area of resident safety. Specifically, the Support QIDP works with the home QIDP in analysis of resident accident / incident and safety events. Any follow up and preventive measures that are put in place will be reviewed and monitored by the Support QIDP.

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

  • Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience providing professional or direct services (either paid or volunteer) in a setting that serves individuals with disabilities.

    Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
