Description of Work

The primary job functions include ensuring and analyzing proper expenditure and budgeting of federal receipts, special funds, and state appropriations. The positions are responsible for the preparation of base budget and change budget requests, budget revision preparation, annual and monthly budget certification activities, year-end closeout activities, grant management and reconciliation, cost allocation activities, monitoring of revenue and receipts and reporting.

This division works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. It brings together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs.

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team and effectively communicating across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role.
