Description of Work
The Business Systems Analyst Supervisor position will manage the Department of Adult Correction (NCDAC) Financial Systems Support section. This position identifies problem areas and develops solutions to improve operating effectiveness. The position will work independently and will report directly to the Controller.
This position is responsible for providing technical support for the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) to over 1300 users. This includes analyzing the functionality of current accounting systems and fiscal operations to determine the adequacy, effectiveness and appropriateness of DAC's accounting systems, related interfaces and operating procedures. Support of NCFS includes not only technical knowledge of complex mainframe software, but also the effect of other system interfaces and knowledge of department fiscal policy.
This position supervises two Business System Analyst and two Business System Support Specialist to ensure the following functions are carried out : NCFS security management, policies and procedures are developed and revised as necessary, helpdesk support for NCFS, Net Plus, Core Banking (Cash Management), NCXPTR, NCID, Inventory modules and ERPs, and desktop support for the Controller's Office.
This position is responsible for responding questions or directing inquiries related to NCFS, Net Plus, Core Banking, NC Exporter, NCID and work closely with personnel within the Department of Adult Correction Controller's Office, NCFS users, Purchasing, MIS or Network and the Office of the State Controller.

As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state's pay plans which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range will be $73,096 - $142,538.
Note to Current State Employees : State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience, of which at least two are supervisory or involved significant experience as a project leader in the area of assignment (OR) equivalent combination of education and experience.
