Description of Work
As of January 1, 2025, the new salary range will be $43,738 - $76,542.
This position is located at Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, North Carolina. This is a medium custody male facility. This position reports to the Associate Warden of Operations. This position will provide supervision of subordinate staff, conduct shift line-up and inspect all assigned staff to ensure that all are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. Position will complete and review shift time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, incident reports, conduct internal investigations, complete administrative forms and conduct employee evaluations. This position will also be accountable for staff and will ensure that all assigned equipment is ready for operation. Position will identify training needs and coordinate delivery of training with management and training coordinator to subordinate staff. This is an eight hour shift position and will be assigned to a specific shift rotation; however, the shift assignment is subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following :

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Education Development (GED) diploma and two years six months of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant, or two years of experience as a Correctional Lieutenant II; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualifications Must be eligible for certification by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
