The Mission of the Department of Public Instruction
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education.
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for a Business Services Coordinator II (Working Title: Facilities Coordinator) for our Facilities Support Services Section.Â
The Facility Support Services Section oversees the day-to-day operational functions for the Department of Public Instruction's physical offices located in Raleigh, NC. The unit provides support for employees and guests with guidance and instruction for everyday functions related to the unit's areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to: Facilities Maintenance, Safety, Security, Inventory Management, Surplus, and Shipping & Receiving.Â
The Facilities Coordinator supports shipping and receiving operations, asset management, facility upkeep, and safety for the Department of Public Instruction. Responsibilities include receiving and distributing mail and packages, maintaining inventory records, coordinating surplus property, and assisting with waste management. The role also provides front-desk security support, helps with office setup and maintenance, and ensures a well-organized loading dock. With a strong focus on customer service, this position assists staff and visitors while supporting the building's daily operations.
