Primary Purpose of Position :
The Division of Parks and Recreation is looking for a proficient Grants Specialist to join the State Trails Team. This position will be responsible for managing grants and funding relating to the Complete the Trails Program for eligible trail projects. Funding for this program helps further complete the state trails in North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities duties include but are not limited to :
- Annually develop an online application that is compliant with rules and regulations, transparent, accurate and simple / reasonable for the end user
- Work directly with the public and grantees to answer questions regarding grant programs as well as provide technical support to applicants
- Create grant standard operating manual and other presentation to be posted online and distributed
- Collect and manage applicant information in the approved dataset to enable accurate grant tracking, accounting, reporting and for generation.
- Provide detailed information to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Financial staff to develop grant contract and contract amendments.
- Review and approve request for grant reimbursements while assuring that all contractual obligations are met, and all state and federal rules and regulations are met.
- Providing accurate and consistent grant information to members of the Division Staff, Departmental Staff and development of an annual report outlining the grant program accomplishments.
