Organization: North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) – Transportation Division
About the Internship: Are you interested in gaining hands-on experience in IT support, programming, and database management? NCDIT’s Transportation division is offering an exciting internship opportunity with the STARS (Statewide Transportation Automated Records System) team. This remote internship will introduce you to Help Desk support, COBOL programming, and SQL, providing you with valuable skills and insights into the intersection of technology and transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Help Desk support, providing troubleshooting and technical assistance to users
- Gain exposure to COBOL programming, helping to maintain and update transportation systems
- Work with SQL databases, supporting data management and query tasks
- Collaborate with team members on ongoing projects and initiatives
- Participate in training sessions and development activities to enhance your technical skills
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Information Technology or a related field. Completion of coding courses (preferably in COBOL or SQL) is highly preferred. Candidates should have a strong interest in programming, technical support, and database management, as well as a willingness to learn in a remote work environment.

- 24 credit hours completed.
- Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
