This position will  be responsible for operating & performing the necessary maintenance/repairs to chillers, air conditioning units, boilers, heat exchangers, coolers, freezer & related components. This position will fill two vacancies: 60046106, 60046129.
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stayÂ
over during adverse weather events.

It is about an hour's drive to the heart of Raleigh or the beautiful coastal town of New Bern.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems including one year at the journey level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of apprenticeship in HVAC at an institution of this magnitude would better prepare one for this position.

- Considerable knowledge of the design & operation of centrifugal, reciprocal, screw & absorption chillers.Â
- Considerble knowledge of the practices, methods, materials, & equipment used in the maintenance & repair of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.Â
- Knowledge of electricity sufficient to troubleshoot and repair complex electrical control circuits. Considerable knowledge of the installation, calibration, & adjustment's of pneumatic (air operated) controls.
