What are the responsibilities and job description for the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center's Construction Supervisor position at State of North Carolina?
The primary purpose of this position is to direct, coordinate, and organize building trade staff in the daily operations of service, repair, maintenance and construction required or requested by J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center (JIRDC) Management. This position provides project cost and material estimates, consistently reviews staff work to ensure assigned tasks meet building codes and department timelines, and ensures contracted work is completed by project specifications. This position is also required to support staff in the service, repair, maintenance and construction tasks of the facility. This position is a working supervisor and reports to the Facility Maintenance Manager.
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Salary Grade NC13; Recruitment Range $48,222.00 - $84,388.00
Position 60038547 - Maintenance - Monday - Friday, 1st shift (7:30 am - 4:00 pm), work schedule may vary and include evening, weekend, holiday, and emergencies hours (Required to perform on-call duties as primary or secondary on-call staff.)

A valid general contractor's license.
16-hour ACBM training.
May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
Heavy work exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or up to 10 lbs. force constantly to perform assigned tasks. Significant work overhead, or on hands and knees for extended periods of time. Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crawl, climb, stoop, and lift. Ability to perform very heavy work. Position requires good visual acuity and coordination to operate wood, masonry, construction equipment and machinery.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three (3) years of progressive experience in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three (3) building or mechanical trades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Necessary Special Qualifications: May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
