Murdoch Developmental Center (MDC) is currently recruiting Registered Nurses for multiple positions in our statewide services programs on first shift. These positions are located in Meadowview and Summerset Cottages. The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional nursing care. This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery. This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs.
Meadowview’s program consists of the Behaviorally Advanced Residential Treatment (BART) program. The BART program serves young adult males, at least 16 years old, with mild IDD and a history of failed treatment placements and/or repeat criminal offenses. Treatment of aberrant behavior in the BART program utilizes a behavioral analytical approach. All programs are designed both to reduce maladaptive behaviors and to accelerate positive social skills. Treatment also includes training in self-help, education, communication, vocation, and recreation as deemed necessary by the interdisciplinary team. Behavior programs are carefully integrated across all areas of training.
SUMMERSET(PATH, MATCH, STARS & TRACK)
Summerset’s program consists of one statewide program, Partners in Autism Treatment and Habilitation (PATH) program, and an internal program, MATCH (Murdoch ASD Treatment and Clinical Habilitation). The PATH program consists of approximately 10 children who live at Summerset Cottage and 2 co-ed community group homes, each serving 4 children. The PATH group home is located in Oxford. The Wright group home is located in Franklinton. The MATCH program serves approximately 12 adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. All services are designed both to reduce behavioral excesses as well as to accelerate positive social skills. Treatment includes person-centered teaching in the areas of self-help, education, communication, and recreation as deemed necessary by the interdisciplinary treatment team.
The STARS program is a service provided by the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services at Murdoch Developmental Center. The STARS program (Specialized Treatment for Adolescents in a Residential Setting) serves adolescents, ages 13 through 17 from across the state who have a dual diagnosis (developmental disability and mental illness) and demonstrate extreme and dangerous forms of aberrant behavior. The STARS program is specifically designed for people with IDD who have been unsuccessful in developing and maintaining an effective, pro-social behavioral repertoire in other treatment settings. The TRACK program (Therapeutic Respite Addressing Crisis for Kids) serves children 5 to 17 years with IDD and who are in behavioral crisis.
Scheduled work hours: 1st shift, 6:30am – 3:00pm, 5 days/week, with rotating weekends.
Schedule adjustments as needed/requested.
