What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Board Enforcement Officer position at State of Ohio Jobs?
What You’ll Do:
The Dental Board Enforcement Officer plays an important part at the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting investigations of complaints and alleged violations of dental practices, including gathering evidence, interviewing involved parties, examining records and preparing reports.
- Inspecting dental offices for compliance with infection control procedures.
- Conducting pharmacy reviews for compliance with state/federal drug laws.
- Participating with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in their investigation and prosecution of criminal cases involving licensed dentists in the state of Ohio.
- Conducting seminars regarding dental/legal issues to dental students, consumers, legal staff and paraprofessionals.
- This position conducts investigations primarily in Western Ohio.
- Traveling up to 50% to conduct site visits and investigations.

- 3 years of training or 3 years of experience as an investigator where experience does not correspond with cases/complaints/allegations to be assigned and travel required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Or 24 months of training or 24 months of investigative experience with experience corresponding to complaints & alleged violations of dental standards and travel required. Must be able to provide own transportation.
- Or 24 months of training or 24 months of experience as Investigator (State of Ohio job code 26211), with experience in complaints & alleged violations regarding medical-related practices and travel required. Must be able to provide our own transportation.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Supplemental Information- This position requires travel throughout the state to conduct site visits and may require the selected candidate to flex their schedule.
- Unless required by legislation or union contract, salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code or OCSEA/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
