The Department of Youth Services provides stability, support, safety, and security for all employees of DYS. The Program Administrator 2 will provide valuable experience and knowledge to the Department of Youth Services workforce.
DYS is seeking a Program Administrator 2 / STG Coordinator to Identify & address barriers to service and work with facility staff to improve service delivery to at risk or gang involved individuals. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background in Security Threat Groups (STG).
Specifically, the STG Coordinator will:
- Completes Security Threat Groups STG assessment & profile for all youth entering facility. Collect & enter all STG information into STG database.
- Interviews all youth involved in STG activity
- Conducts rounds at least weekly to speak with youth
- Attends institutional activities where there are high levels of STG activity
- Interviews, reviews, monitors & analyzes data & outcome measures
- Submits reports on trends & STG findings
- Attends Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings & shares pertinent information
- Attend roll call and department head meetings to provide current STG information
- Evaluate programs & services to determine if goals & objectives are being met
- Serves as liaison to youth, families & targeted communities
- Engages in gang prevention, intervention & mediation as needed.
- Acts for the Facility Superintendent by implementing &monitoring Department of Youth Services (DYS) state-wide policies related to facility STG

Must meet the minimum qualifications for employment:
Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file; 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
- Or 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.
- Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.

Job Skills: Program Management Supplemental Information
PRE-SERVICE TRAINING:
All new candidates hired to the Department of Youth Services are required to attend 3 weeks of mandatory, paid training at the Correctional Training Academy in Orient, Ohio. This cost of this mandatory training is paid for by the state of Ohio to include lodging, meals and transportation. Training Academy hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
