The Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown offers 168 beds for nursing home care. Two levels of care are offered: standard care for veterans in need of any intermediate level of care, and memory care for veterans with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.

TITLE JOB DETAILS:
- Starting Hourly Pay: $16.68 with multiple pay increases over your first years of service.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under general supervision, operates commercial laundry equipment in safe & efficient manner
- Responsible for sorting soiled laundry by colors, records receipt & release of agency laundry
- Contacting supervisors for clarification of laundry needs
- Review manufacturer’s manual to measure cleaning solutions
- Fold, dry laundry, sorting by identification & records damaged or lost laundry
- Operates sewing machine to repair resident clothes or agency linen
- Operates marking machine to label resident clothing or marks by hand for dark articles of clothing
- Performs any additional job related duties as assigned

Knowledge of laundry practices & procedures*; safety practices associated with use of laundry equipment*; sewing or mending techniques & procedures*; housekeeping practices & procedures*; addition & subtraction. Skill in operation of laundry equipment*. Ability to read, copy & record figures; recognize safety warnings; stand, walk or bend continuously; lift up to 100 lbs. repeatedly; move limbs/fingers easily to perform manual functions repeatedly.

Unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be set at the lowest rate of the salary range with gradual increases after completing probation and following successful annual performance evaluations.

In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code Section 125.151 (B), all employees whose employment commenced on or after June 5, 2002, and is paid by a warrant issued by the Auditor of State, must have his or her compensation directly deposited in the institution of their choice.
