What you’ll do at OhioMHAS:
- Organizes & directs operation of Central Nursing Office (CNO) in collaboration with Hospital Aide Supervisor (HAS): supervises nursing personnel providing care for adult through geriatric patients & specific populations, such as, but not limited to, forensic, Substance Abuse Mentally Ill (SAMI) & Developmental Disability
- Monitors effectiveness of nursing activities on shift to ensure substantial compliance with American Nurses Association, TJC & HCFA Standards reflecting high quality patient care;
- Collaborates with other supervisors & disciplines to assure continuity of patient care & compliance to patient programming
- Makes administrative decisions in accordance with hospital's mission, philosophy, values, policies & recovery focus
- Assists in resolving patient care issues as they arise
- Completes nursing staff & HAS performance evaluations & reviews Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) evaluations timely when completed by HAS
- Coordinates/reviews daily assignments for professional nursing personnel for coverage & Medication administration
- Assumes leadership in staffing & medical emergencies
- Reviews work schedules completed by HAS to assure appropriate coverage; reviews acuity reports from wards to review staffing & reported patient care needs; adjusts staffing in accordance to acuity changes throughout shift
- Receives on-coming shift report & provides off-going report to next shift supervisor
- Directs &/or participates in patient programming & activities
This is an hourly position and is exempt from the bargaining units, with a pay range of #15 on the E1 Exempt Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 7:00pm - 7:30am, every other weekend (Flexible Schedule).
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Additional Salary / Appointment Information:
Candidate may be eligible for additional pay supplements based on education.

Position Qualifications
- Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code;
- 24 mos. exp. in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities; 3 mos. trg. or 3 mos. exp. in employee training & development; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in public relations; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in counseling.
- Or equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience requirements, but not for the mandated licensure.
