What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safe at Home Liaison position at State of Ohio?
The Safe at Home Liaison plays a vital role in executing outreach activities to increase awareness and compliance for the Safe at Home program within the Ohio Secretary of State's office. The Liaison will work closely with the Safe at Home Administrator to ensure that everyone eligible for the program is aware of how they can join, build partnerships with local organizations in the community, and deliver the highest degree of service.The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness of the Safe at Home program among eligible individuals and current or potential ally organizations.
- Meet with local government entities, ex. : judicial, prosecutor, law enforcement, Board of Elections, and Jobs and Family Services.
- Participate in partner association meetings, events, and conferences.
- Recruit and assist in developing and presenting training programs for application assistants.
- Serve as an application assistant to meet with victims on an as needed basis.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when handling participant information and communications.
- Respond to general inquiries from application assistants, participants, and the public over the phone and via email.
- Collaborates with the Safe at Home Administrator to develop and deliver training for staff, partners, government agencies, and community members on the program's requirements and best practices.
- Process mail on an as needed basis.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to support program evaluation and improvement efforts.
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and resources related to domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual violence to ensure accurate and up-to-date information dissemination.
- Conduct NVRA site visits to local libraries and BMV locations leaving SAH posters and brochures.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses for Ohio Businesses Against Trafficking.
- Provide input into policy & legislation related to the program.
- Travel; may require overnight stay
- Perform other duties as assigned.Education
- Preferred : Associate's degree in social work, public administration, criminal justice or a related field.Experience

- Excellent client-facing communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills, including excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred :
- Experience with Microsoft Teams.
- Experience serving survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, or stalking.
- Knowledge of crime victim protection and confidentiality laws.
- Experience in public speaking, including trainings and presentations to various audiences.
