About the Position: Under the direction of the Director of Internal Audit the incumbent will conduct financial, operational and compliance audits of assigned organizational, functional, and financial activities. The person selected for this position will evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the management controls as well as determine whether organizational units in the agency are performing their activities in compliance with established procedure and assure compliance with federal and State laws, regulations and policies for the department’s administrative offices, institutions, community health centers and contractors. The Financial Auditor I is responsible for evaluating and assessing the financials and accounting practices of our specialty court programs. The financial auditor will be responsible for offering recommendations to decision-makers on ways to improve accounting and reducing financial risk in addition to other duties. The successful applicant will have a base knowledge of auditing, internal controls, audit work papers and reconciliations. The individual chosen for this position should be able to understand and interpret a financial audit. Excellent customer service, communication, research, writing, critical thinking, and teamwork skills are a must. Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets is also a plus.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance business or public administration
- One year of professional auditing or accounting
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education
