The Technical Publications Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the creation, editing, production, and distribution of technical documentation for a company or organization. This includes forms, manuals, guides, user documentation, specifications, and other technical content. The role ensures that all documents meet high-quality standards, are delivered on time, and align with industry regulations or organizational needs.
Duties And Responsibilities
The functions performed by employees in this position may include the following:
Knowledge of
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, with or without aids. Ability to communicate clearly. Physical ability to lift to 15 pounds, to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk, and reach. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
Special Requirements
This position requires occasional travel. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. Possession and maintenance of a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License is also required.
Core work hours for the Oklahoma Tax Commission are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm. This schedule may require minor flexibility based on the needs of the agency.
Telework may be required based on the needs of the agency, division, and section. If applicable, applicant must be willing and able to BOTH work on-site and telework at an off-site location, generally in the applicant’s home. Applicant must have a secure internet connection and a dedicated telephone (landline) or smart phone device during scheduled working hours.

Duties And Responsibilities
The functions performed by employees in this position may include the following:
- Collaborates with other divisions in creating and updating agency forms; ensures all forms are within the Oklahoma Tax Commission’s (OTC) branding guidelines.
- Collaborates with writers and graphic designers to create documents that complement text and layout design.
- Performs image compression, file correction, and optimization techniques.
- Imports text and graphics into desktop publishing software programs.
- Considers all parties involved and how the changes made will impact taxpayers, tax preparers, software developers, and other divisions in the agency.
- Collaborates with fellow team members on special projects.
Knowledge of
- Graphic design software
- Layout principles and esthetic design concepts
- Pre-press and printing standards through a variety of methods
- Website management tools
- Proficient in desktop publishing software, including InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Art, or closely related field;
- OR three (3) years of experience in Graphic Design, Desktop Publishing, or closely related field
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
