Class Definition
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To do work in various phases of laundry operation under immediate supervision; and to do related work as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Tasks are assigned in detail; work is reviewed in process for satisfactory performance.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise a small number of workers.
Illustrative Examples of Work Performed
To do work in various phases of laundry operations.
To assist in the operation of washers, extractors, tumblers, dryers or conditioners by loading and removing laundry and adding prescribed amounts of laundry formulas and bleach solutions.
To operate any of several types of presses, flatwork ironers and hand irons.
To mark, sort, bundle, count and weigh laundry.
To keep work areas clean.
To do related work as required.
Required Qualifications For Appointment
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND CAPACITIES: The ability to perform routine or repetitive work following specific instructions; and related capacities and abilities.
Education And Experience
Education: Sufficient to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
Special Requirements
At the time of appointment must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties as evidence by a physician's certificate

Pre-Employment Requirements for all candidates to receive a position at ESH or RISPH is the proof of immunity against:
Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)
Varicella (Chickenpox),
Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap),
