DDSN-operated Regional Centers - located in Clinton, Columbia, Florence, Hartsville, and Summerville - are residential facilities seeking to fill several paid internships with college students and/or recent college graduates who want to make an impact on the South Carolinians DDSN serves!
Interns will work to engage adults with disabilities in various activities to enrich and/or improve their:
- Leisure Skills
- Quality of Life
- Social Communication
- Daily Functioning
- Emotional Regulation
- Restricted and Repetitive Behaviors
Get hands-on experience and develop your skills as you help us improve the lives of the South Carolinians we serve! We have a variety of discipline areas for you to connect, enrich, and make a real impact in communities across the state. Students of all fields of study are encouraged to apply!
Applicants will be able to select their preferred location(s) as part of the supplemental questions.
Pay rate is between $14.00 - $18.00 depending on your level of education.
Applicants who completed/will complete their undergraduate and/or graduate program in 2024 or 2025 will also be considered.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a (2) step PPD testing or QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
