What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic and Career Advisor (Temporary) position at State of South Carolina?
The Academic and Career Advisor facilitates academic plan development, career, advising, registration assistance, and academic strategy cultivation with assigned caseload of newly admitted students, students in their first semester of enrollment, and continuing student aimed at student success, persistence, retention, progression, and completion. The position maintains thirty (30) hours of advising availability per week. participates in on-going training provided by the Center and assigned academic department(s), facilitates early interventions, and regularly uses available technologies to ensure arcuate and effective advising.

Experience in student services programsBachelor’s degree plus three (3) years of experience in student services programs/academic advising or an achieved Master’s degree.
