What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Professor – Mechatronics Technology position at State of South Carolina?
Maintains a high level of excellence in teaching by communicating and interacting effectively with students enrolled in courses within the program area. Prepares materials needed for course instruction and testing. Keeps student records and adheres to course schedules. Uses learning management systems to communicate with students, faculty and staff. Participates in the collection of student learning outcomes. Assists the Mechatronics Technology coordinator with timely notification of any shortfall in supplies or equipment needed for lab instruction. Conducts lectures, discussions and other teaching activities. Relates instruction and material to course objectives. Provides students with course syllabi and correlates grade assignment with skill and course competency. Submits grades, reports and records in a timely manner. Remains current in field. An Adjunct faculty member in Mechatronics Technology must possess a broad knowledge of at least one common manufacturing technology (Automation, Electrical, and Mechanical) as it relates to preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Lastly, the ideal candidate must be able to present material relevant to these disciplines in a manner that will produce a fundamentally sound, technically diverse graduate that is able to function as an Advanced Maintenance Technician in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
