Job Responsibilities
Employee is required to work on a highly independent level, duties are varied, and certain aspects are complex and exacting. This employee will ensure all program operations are in compliance with State and Agency policies and procedures, enter valuable data without errors, and use sound judgment. Individual will be required to perform computer operations (e.g., data entry, word processing, spreadsheet application, database management) supporting program staff for all required activities, including but not limited to, purchasing (completing purchase orders, tracking expenditures, preparing vendor contracts), travel documentation (requests and reimbursement), managing vehicle fleet information (insurance, assignments, etc.), equipment inventory, uniforms, personnel paperwork (new hires, seasonal staff, interns, and employee transfers) and providing logistical support for meetings.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of responsible clerical or administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and one (1) year responsible clerical or administrative experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of responsible clerical or administrative experience preferred.
Should be proficient in typing, word processing, database management, spreadsheet application, and associated clerical skills. Extensive knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access. Familiarity with general office skills including filing, budget management, procurement procedures, personnel procedures, error-free and organized data entry, and database management. Effective execution of all duties significantly enhances the performance of the statewide Diadromous Fish Project. General knowledge of the biological functions performed within SCDNR Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries is preferred.
