Job Responsibilities
Performs procurement duties using the SC Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) as an initiator. Creates and maintains shopping carts and purchase orders in SCEIS for multiple on-going maintenance contracts for materials needed for normal maintenance activities, emergency situations, and acquired information for non-contract purchases. Solicits and awards written quotes from qualified sources and maintains proper documentation. Reconciles invoices and creates good receipts for prompt payments. Acts as timekeeper for the unit. Enters information into Highway Maintenance Management System and SCEIS. Assists employees with leave records. Answers telephone, takes messages, and forwards calls to appropriate employees. Operates maintenance two-way radio. Receives requests from the public, inputs information into Highway Maintenance Management System, and routes to the proper foremen for repair in a timely manner. Reviews and manages stockpile quantities in HMMS. Serves as procurement card holder to purchase goods and services within the approved allowed limits. Serves as Procurement Card Liaison for credit card holders for the unit. Assists during emergency and inclement weather operations. May include being available for extended working hours or 12 hour shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle driver's license is required.
The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and / or other departmental-related emergencies.
