Job Responsibilities
The administrative specialist serves as receptionist for the Union facility and is responsible for providing administrative/clerical support services and day-to-day operational support for the Campus Administrator and personnel at the SCC Union County Campus. Responsible for providing students and potential students with support in a variety of functional areas, including testing, admissions, financial aid, registration, and student services. Serve as campus liaison for all SCC Central Campus classes, functions, and activities.
High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree plus 3 years of related work experience, or high school diploma plus 5 years of related work experience.

- Provides administrative and clerical support services for the daily operations of the SCC Union County Campus. Develops and prepares forms, reports, presentations, and special projects through appropriate computer software skills. Prepares/submits monthly statistical reports to the Campus Administrator. Maintains inventory of office and bookstore supplies for site operations. Develops and maintains hard copy and electronic filing system for the facility and state audit review requirements. Responsible for recording/distributing minutes of staff and advisory committee meetings. Prepares and coordinates direct mail/e-mail to faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
- Assists Campus Administrator with college functions including data entry of applications, status reports, transcripts, and program changes. Assists with SCC/CCE registration, dual enrollment, recruitment activities, application/enrollment reports, workshops, and open house/information sessions.
- Greets visitors to the facility, answers incoming telephone calls, provides information to visitors, students, and callers about the admissions process, SCC/CCE registration, course schedules, seminars, workshops, and other inquiries. Routes calls as needed and maintains open communication with all campus personnel.
- Serves as the primary testing proctor for the campus, including Accuplacer admission testing and academic make-up testing. Responsible for scheduling, documenting student data, proctoring exams, and properly recording results.
- Schedules facilities for classroom instruction, workshops, seminars, and industry/business events. Communicates with appropriate staff and parties to confirm schedules. Works closely with SCC Maintenance/IT Support staff to arrange setups and technical equipment if needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
