The Assistant Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development (AVP for WED) is a senior leadership role that places a strong emphasis on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the acceleration of programs. The AVP for WED is responsible for providing strategic direction, planning, and oversight of the Workforce and Economic Development Department at York Technical College. Dynamic community partner. This pivotal role is focused on driving forward the College's mission by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement cutting-edge training programs, work collaboratively with all divisions within the College, support economic development initiatives, and foster strong partnerships within the community and business sectors. Where innovation thrives, we flourish. Leads an innovative team, serving as the first stop for business and industry by championing York Technical College as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship.Building tomorrow's workforce. Directs all short-term credit and non-credit programs within the WED department, with an emphasis on accelerating program development. Develops and implement groundbreaking training programs, including short-term industry credentials, tailored to startup and entrepreneurial needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to establish new programs that rapidly transition from non-credit to credit status.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Master's degree in a relevant field.Minimum of five years of senior-level managerial experience, with a strong background in innovation, entrepreneurship, and program acceleration. Proven track record in workforce and economic development.Proven track record in building and leading high performing teams.Ability to work flexible hours and travel within the three-county service areas. On occasion, additional state, regional and national travel may be required.
