JOB PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, supports classroom instruction for all students according to their individual needs in collaboration with teachers and staff to ensure an effective learning environment.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and implements lesson content and instructional activities as provided by Teachers of Record (TORs) to improve students’ content knowledge, mastery of skills and to increase overall content knowledge.Engages in best practices to deliver content – specific lessons and instruction to students by means of established distance learning instructional delivery platform, where applicable.
Establishes clear communication with students, TORs, and all personnel within the distance learning and site instructional delivery platform.
Demonstrates technology proficiency in using district-endorsed instructional applications, web-based platforms, and learning management systems.
Displays professionalism and leadership by following established school, agency, state and federal policies and procedures.
Performs other related job duties as required.
STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma and experience in education, childcare, or general administration.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of PowerSchool preferred.
Ability to maintain discipline in a group situation.
Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, students and public.
Prefer someone with experience working with computers.
Employees in the Division of Educational Services who occupy this position do not receive the extra nine (9) paid non-workdays given to certified staff.
This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.
